Ray was born in Cardiff, a second son for May & Mick and a brother for Paul. Throughout his life he always did well with his schooling, sports. etc. He attended South Glamorgan Institute of higher education where he studied and qualified as a mechanical engineer. He joined Sony in 1988 as a graduate and became a design engineer for the company, being invloved in big development projects and travelling to Japan. He met Ann in 1992 and their son, Elis was born the following year in November 1993. Ann & Ray married in October 1994. Ray was a great father and a wonderfully supportive husband through Ann's battle with severe post natal depression. He loved his rugby and squash and played regularly. He died suddenly on January 8th 1997 whilst at work, aged 30.
