Rayo - my brother

Raymond, or Rayo as we called him was a great brother. He was 3 years younger than me and far more disciplined, mannerly and studious than most people of our generation. We grew up in Cathays, amongst Irish , Italian, Greek, Maltese, Asians and all nationalities, of the working class, before the students took over. What a melting pot it was, the mothers used to take it turns to walk the kids up Cathays Terrace along Whitchurch Road to St. Josephs School. We went from there up to Lady Mary, and as mentioned, Rayo applied himself well and aquired good grades. During this time he played rugby, and athletics for the schcool and St. Josephs RFC, a little later. Rayo went on to study for SGIHE and work for Sony. Brackla was the practical move so near to work, and he was a founder member Brackla RFC, and loved playing squash. It was here that Rayo met and married Ann and they have a beautiful son, even if he do support Swansea City. Rayo- you were a wonderfull brother , uncle, son, cousin, husband, father and friend, lost to us all way before your time, and sadly missed.
