Its been over 33 years since I last saw my best friend in school.

Today I have just been made aware of this page and am so grateful for the opportunity of putting some words down in memory of Ray.

For all our high school life, me, Ray and Pete Duddridge were best friends, as close as any friends can be, playing sports together (whether it be Rugby or Athletics, anything actually), we would spend most weekends together, either out or at each other's houses, they were incredibly happy times.

I called on Ray most mornings as he lived closer to school than me, I was always made welcome.

I left for the Navy in 1984 and after that it was difficult to keep in contact (its not as easy as it is today), it was always a regret of mine.

I heard of Ray's passing some years later via another school friend, I could not believe it, 30, it was not age at all, it saddened me further that we had been able to keep in touch.

My thoughts more so today are with him and his family, I doubt whether they would remember me but for me Ray will always be part of my life story, and for that I will be eternally grateful, a true friend.
